Since 2008, AIDMI’s Risk and Resilience Programme has been working to integrate disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) into policies, plans, and practices across India and South Asia. Through partnerships with national and state disaster management authorities, governments, international organisations, and local communities, the programme advances innovative approaches such as climate-smart disaster risk management, microinsurance, risk transfer, Afat Vimo, heatwave adaptation, and women-led resilience initiatives. From supporting farmers and small businesses to shaping national agendas at global forums, the programme focuses on strengthening community resilience, reducing vulnerabilities, and enabling recovery in the face of disasters and climate extremes.
