Back to Annual Report
The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) Annual Report 2016–2017 reflects its pioneering role in implementing India’s National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) at the grassroots level. During the year, AIDMI worked across 49 districts and 11 states, promoting inclusive disaster risk reduction through school safety programs, women’s leadership initiatives, community-based disaster preparedness, microinsurance for informal businesses, and climate adaptation planning. The report emphasises AIDMI’s focus on integrating Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) in development, in line with the Sendai Framework and the Prime Minister’s 10-Point Agenda on DRR. By collaborating with UN agencies, governments, and local communities, AIDMI continued to transform policy into action—strengthening resilience among India’s most vulnerable citizens and advancing sustainable, risk-informed development.
