Back to Annual Report
The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) Annual Report 2017–2018 highlights the organisation’s commitment to implementing India’s National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) at the local level through inclusive and community-based approaches. AIDMI worked across 15 states and multiple South Asian countries to strengthen disaster governance, promote comprehensive school safety, develop disaster management plans, and advance risk transfer initiatives like Afat Vimo for informal businesses. Collaborating with partners such as UNICEF, UNDP, and state authorities, AIDMI focused on bridging policy, practice, and research to enhance community resilience and climate adaptation. The report reflects AIDMI’s belief that resilience begins at the grassroots—empowering local institutions, women, and youth to lead sustainable and risk-informed development.
