The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) has conducted an assessment of heatwave impacts on small businesses in Ahmedabad, Gujarat focusing on those most affected. AIDMI supported 100 small businesses either take up anticipatory actions or address the loss and damage due to extreme heat.

AIDMI organized a learning workshop to build the understanding of disaster risk and related adaptation among small businesses on ‘Extreme Heat and Community Resilience.’

The “Extreme Heat and Community Resilience” Learning Workshop successfully addressed the pressing issue of extreme heat equipping participants with valuable knowledge and practical strategies to enhance community resilience.

Through a combination of informative presentations and collaborative group exercises, participants gained insights into the causes and impacts of extreme heat, as well as actionable adaptation and mitigation practices tailored to their local contexts based on 2024 summer experience and for preparing for upcoming climate uncertainties.
