Corporate India and Early Action for Cooling Extreme Heat

On July 17, 2025, the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), convened a landmark Corporate Roundtable in New Delhi to address extreme heat as a growing humanitarian and economic crisis. With a focus on early action and disaster risk reduction, the roundtable called on corporate leaders, civil society, and local authorities to co-develop inclusive and practical solutions for cooling India’s most exposed communities and businesses. Ten priority actions were launched—ranging from community cooling hubs and anticipatory training, to heat-indexed microinsurance and CSR-backed innovation platforms. As Dr. Krishna Vatsa of NDMA emphasized, “We need differentiated strategies for vulnerable groups.” AIDMI invites all stakeholders to join in building a cooler, safer, and more resilient India.
