AIDMI has organised the Virtual Roundtable on “Heatwave Deaths Are Avoidable”, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 04:30 pm to 05:30 pm IST.

All disaster deaths may not be avoidable but all heatwave deaths are avoidable. The Virtual Roundtable titled ‘Heatwave Deaths Are Avoidable’ highlights the fact that we know enough about how to avoid heatwave-caused death. It is up to us now to act.

This roundtable focuses on tackling the significant challenge of heat-related fatalities that can be prevented. Insights from the Avoidable Deaths Network (ADN), All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI), and their partners reinforce that strategic collective actions and heightened public awareness are key to preventing these deaths.

This discussion is guided by a special issue of Southasiadisasters.net co-produced by the panel members, which aims to converge expertise and enhance cooperative efforts across different sectors to take practical actions.
