The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) convened a virtual roundtable on “Towards a Safer and Resilient Nagaland: What we do, why we do, and how we learn” on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM IST. The session brought together representatives from government, international organisations, and civil society.
The roundtable reflected on ongoing efforts in Nagaland to strengthen disaster risk reduction, community preparedness, and resilience in the face of increasing climate and disaster risks, with the aim of making these efforts more effective and enabling other states to learn from these initiatives.
The session also marked the launch of a special issue of Southasiadisasters.net dedicated to this theme, featuring insights from field experiences, policy perspectives, and local practices. Through dialogue and knowledge exchange, the roundtable highlighted what works on the ground, why these efforts matter, and how collaborative action can contribute to safer and more resilient communities in Nagaland in northeast India, as well as across other states of India.
AIDMI released a special issue of Southasiadisasters.net on “Towards a Safer and Resilient Nagaland: What we do, why we do, and how we learn,” highlighting experiences, lessons, and practices from Nagaland.
